Service Terms

Last updated: 24 August 2026

These terms apply to paving and landscaping work carried out by May Paving (Builder's Licence BL 355972), based in Gawler, South Australia. They sit alongside your written quote — if anything in your quote differs from these terms, the quote applies. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Quotes

Quotes are free and carry no obligation. Each quote is prepared from the information available to us at the time, usually including an on-site inspection and measure-up, and covers only the work it describes. If your quote states a period for which it remains open, that period applies; if some time has passed since you received a quote, please check with us before accepting it, as material and supply prices can change.

Variations and site conditions

If you would like to change the scope of work after accepting a quote, tell us and we will confirm any change to price or timing before proceeding. Sometimes conditions that could not reasonably be seen at quoting — such as rock, unstable ground, buried concrete, poor drainage or unmarked services — are only discovered once work begins. If that happens, we will stop, explain what we have found, and agree any additional work and cost with you before continuing.

Site access and preparation

Please make sure we have reasonable access to the work area on the agreed dates, and let us know in advance about anything that affects access — locked gates, pets, shared driveways or limited parking. You are responsible for telling us about any private underground services you know of (irrigation, drainage, power to sheds and the like) and for confirming property boundaries where the work runs along them.

Weather and timing

Paving and landscaping is outdoor work. Rain, extreme heat and wet ground can delay a job or affect the quality of the finish if we push on, so we won't. Timeframes we give are genuine estimates, not guarantees, and we will keep you informed if the schedule needs to move.

Materials

Pavers, natural stone and other landscaping materials vary naturally in colour and texture, including between batches from the same supplier. Photographs on this website and in supplier catalogues are a guide only. Where a chosen material becomes unavailable, we will discuss the closest alternative with you before substituting anything.

Payment

Payment amounts and timing are set out on your quote or invoice. Unless your quote says otherwise, final payment is due on completion of the work. If you have any concern about an invoice, contact us straight away so we can sort it out.

Cancellations and postponements

If you need to cancel or postpone booked work, please tell us as early as you can. Where materials have already been ordered specifically for your job, we will discuss with you how those costs are handled before anything is charged.

Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that work is carried out with due care and skill, is fit for purpose, and is completed within a reasonable time. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees. Any additional express warranty, if offered, will be stated in writing on your quote.

Licence and insurance

May Paving is fully licensed and insured, operating under Builder's Licence BL 355972.
